People’s Choice Award presented to Vulcan Works Coworker
An annual celebration of visual arts has been hailed a success at the closing ceremony after more than 4,000 visitors attended the Northants Open Studios’ month-long event.
Many people enjoyed the month-long art celebration in Northants. With over a massive 4,000 people coming to see the amazing works it!
At the final event at Lamport Hall, Dave Pearson won a prize for his metal artwork called ‘Scrap Sphere’. Four young artists – Esme Loasby, Charlotte Ashman, Rachael Aldridge, and Jack Astbury – also got special awards because they’re very talented.
Katie Boyce, who helps run the event, said: “This year was even better than we hoped. Lamport Hall wasn’t just where we held the event; it felt like our home. Dave Pearson’s metal artwork was something a lot of people talked about because it was so amazing.”
Even though times are tough, many people bought the artwork on show. Mark Herrod, who’s in charge at Lamport Hall, said: “It was great having the art event here. We loved seeing all the art and creativity. We want to keep supporting local artists and sharing our lovely place with everyone.”
